My Batanes Dream Came True Part 7: Diura Spring and beach nearby, Sumhao Wind Turbines

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Before reaching the spring, you need to take a 15 – 20 minute hike with an amazing view. The locals call the Diura Spring the Spring of Youth. It is quietly tucked below where the first Ivatans lived. One can also offer prayers at the Our Lady of Lourdes grotto located near the spring water’s main source.

You come here not to see windmills. You endure rough roads and an uphill trek to be on the finest spot to relish a 360-degree of God’s magnificent creation. The island’s two highest peaks stand guard on opposite ends. On a clear day, you can view the northernmost islands of Batanes.

From here, you can see this huge ass mountain with roads better than Edsa and cows on the side.

Too bad the windmills were down when we visited...and...I was entertaining work calls and txt so wasn’t able to take a lot of photos. Hahaha
